Not sure how to begin this but after visiting over 150 grounds in the last 50+ years I have not experienced anything like I did today at the Dulwich v Lewes game.
Down in London for the day we decided to visit the Champion Hill Stadium. No tickets were available online so across London we went.
Arrived at 14:15 and welcome told to queue. At 15:10 we were finally allowed in as we apparently had to wait until all those who had bought online had arrived even if they were 10 minutes late?.
Once inside things went even further downhill. The crowd were not even watching the game and despite the ground being very full all you could hear was people chatting.
The crowd didn't even seem to notice that the ref had blown for half time.
We decided to cut our losses and left before the second half started.
Really poor customer service and organisation. AVOID!
It's close to the railway station.
Ground was overcrowded soviet was poor.
Decent food, long queues.
No police visible, stewards seemed as confused as the long line of punters hoping to get in.
Nobody seemed aware a game was going on.
