flo-cky has rated The Recreation Ground 3.0 out of 5.
I liked this little ground, fairly standard and nothing special for this level. my visit coincided with a seriously windy and wet day, and there was nowhere really to hide from the elements. The locals were chatty and it was all cheap enough.
We drove there, it was easy enough to find and we got parked up no problems after driving round the ducks playing in the car park puddles.
The view was fine, from the side of the pitch. we spent most of the game huddled under a brolly, under a tree in the corner. We did try and go in the small main stand but the rain was driving straight in there so we abandoned that sharply. there was also a small covered terraced/shed but that was full up for this game.
inside the ground there was a Tea Hut, selling hot drinks and i think hot dogs, tho i never tried the later.
Toilets were over in the leisure centre across the park about a 2min walk away. The clubhouse was also over here in an upstairs room.
Bar was bottles and cans only, no draft. All reasonably priced as was the Tea Bar.
No atmosphere on my visit, it was all a bit damp.
