Been here twice as I wanted to see what the fuss is all about their new ground. Always liked Layer Road as I've seen us win a fair few times. But the shocking attendances and typical new stadium design doesn't make this ground stand out.
Awful location miles away from any train station and decent pubs. This is because CUFC bought cheap land to build there ground on which probably is clay resulting in poor drainage and shocking pitch.
Have to drink in the town which is about a 45 minute walk away and as it being a derby game we have to wait for a police escort to the ground. The bus system clearly doesn't work and the queues getting n the buses is shocking. Or you can drive and pay £7 to park your car... again shocking.
Superb view of the game from both ends. Can't knock that.
Good toilets. Ok food. Typical breeze block type underground bar.
They never fill there found and the attendance for the 2010 derby was so awful and as the game was on Sky Sports it was bad look for Essex football. The stand the camera was facing had fewer then 200 people in it. Just shocking for a League 1 Essex derby.
Few of there fans started to sing by the time they were 2-0 up.
