Craven Cottage, for me, has the good and the bad. On the one hand you have the cottage and the Main Stand (Johnny Haynes Stand) which are wonderfully traditional. On the other hand you have the Hammersmith End and the Putney (Away) End. Although they're new, they're awful. At least with some stadiums, Goodison Park for example, you have wooden floors that are actual wood. But at the Cottage you have something that wouldn't look out of place in Ikea.
Located nicely between Hammersmith Broadway and Putney Bridge tube stations. Unfortunately, it's about a two mile walk to either. The walk along the Thames is quite nice, unless like me, you're doing the walk in December.
The view for me wasn't particularly good because I was right near the front, but I imagine if you were further back it would be a decent view. For comfort, well, the MDF has already been mentioned and the stairs down are quite... sporadic, so you end up falling down when you misjudge the sudden change in depth of the step.
The choice of beer and food is pretty decent, it's just the fact that the concourse is outside that detracts from it, especially in December with a nice breeze coming off the Thames.
As above.
Never really came into contact with stewards or police, but they seem to be in heavy presence.
Occasional bursts of noise, but very few and far between.
