As I am a Blackpool supporter I may be a bit biased but I think that Bloomfield Road is an excellent medium sized ground. The ground has 3 new stands, one at either end and one along the side, which are connected in the corners the final stand is a temporary stand which is just being built for the new season in the top flight. The permanent stands are for home supporters only and cantilevered roofs which means no obstructions to the view. The facilities are what you would expect from a modern ground. The south stand is where the die hard Blackpool fans are now located and it tends to be from here that the atmosphere is generated. The new semi temporary stand on the east side is mostly for away supports but there should also be some Blackpool supporters in it as well as the press. This stand has a supported roof so will have some obstructions to sight lines though they are not thick roof supports so views should be still good.
The ground is located a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of the town and is extremely easy to get to. If you're coming in from the motorway all you need to do it continue straight forward at the end of the motorway following signs for the car parks and the road you are on eventually turns into Seasiders Way and takes you to the rear of the main stand. The car park is absolutely huge and is right next to the ground so there should not be a problem with parking unless you want to park for free on the streets. If you want to park on the streets for free there is likely to be a bit of a walk and you will have to head in land for any chance of finding a space. I usually take this option and have a 5 minute walk to the ground from where I park.
As the stands are new the seating is the same as you would find in most ground these days though the tred depth seems greater and in a lot of the new stadiums making it more comfortable than most. As for the view in the home stands the views are good especially if you can get to the back of the west stand, I have heard that the views in the old temporary stand were very good but since there is now a roof with supports it might not be as good any more.
What you would expect from a modern stadium, large concourses with TV screens and large toilets. There is nothing to complain about and I believe soon there is to be a supporters bar built into the south stand which should be fantastic.
The pies are not as good as they once were but they are still very good, you would have to go to Morecambe to get a better pie at a football ground. One good thing is that unlike most grounds these days when you buy a bottle of coke or whatever they don't remove the top!
I have never had any problems with the police and stewards and some of them are really friendly and really good though like everything, some of them are not. The worst it seems to get is stewards trying to tell people to sit down or asking people not to climb over the seats on the way out to avoid the queues on the gangways.
Its a very rare day when the atmosphere isn't brilliant at Bloomfield Road. Most games there is the drummer leading the chants. Unlike a lot of clubs the Blackpool supporters don't even stop chanting when the team fall behind.
