"Culture shock in the League Cup"

Moss Rose gave me a shock when I arrived there, for a League cup first round tie. This was because it was far and away the worst ground I had ever seen Leeds play in. It was comparable to the non-league grounds I'd visited. An absolute dive.

Location

I went to this one by train, and remember having a long, long walk from the station to the ground; about half an hour or so, if I remember rightly.

Atmosphere

The terrace where the away fans were housed had no roof, making it very difficult to generate any kind of atmosphere. The home fans chants included the highly original; "Maccy, Maccy, Maccy, Maccy, Macclesfield".
