Travelling up to Old Trafford for a 4th round Carling Cup match between Man Utd & QPR was a reasonably good journey. However I would say it would probably be easier to get there if it was a Saturday afternoon match. Since I travelled up with a few family members I sadly cannot give anyone advice about where to drink, what I will say is parking was reasonable for us. From where we parked there was a view of the stadium. If you ever arrive at Old Trafford with time to kill then there are different things to have a look at such as the statue of Law, Charlton, Best and of course Sir Matt Busby.
The view was simply in one word fantastic. However I was in the seat I was because it was a Carling Cup match. I hope to be watching Man Utd v QPR as a Premier League fixture and for the league matches away fans sit in a different place
Anyone reading this may think I'm being biased but QPR had a great following, normally the case in football is that away fans have more atmosphere than the home fans. The stadium was not full that night understandably for a lot of Man Utd fans, watching their 2nd string side play QPR at home is not as exciting for them as a match against Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea. Even though we lost the match 1-0 the QPR following sang throughout and gave the team a well deserved rounding ovation for their efforts!
