I went to this ground for the Albion - Villa derby on the 11/12/10. As I first entered the ground I was surprised at how big it really was. The away end is set on two tiers with a row of executive boxes along the middle. Away fans are sat very close the the home fans so there tension between the two groups of fans. On arrival, away fans were allowed very close to the edge of the pitch next to the advertising boards so autographs could be signed ect. I think that this ground is aimed at the executive audience as all but one of the stands (the Holte End) has either boxes at the top with private seating or a row of boxes along the middle of the stand (with no seating) separating them into two tiers. This is a very good ground that was a pleasure to go to.

Location

The ground is situated about a ten minute walk away from Aston train station. Trains to the ground are operated by London Midland. There seemed to be plenty of parking and the ground was easy to access.

View

The view of the pitch is very good with no obstructions whatsoever. I can't comment on legroom or comfort of seats as we spent the whole match standing up. They are standard football ground seats.

Facilities

Toilets are good and are very clean.

Food & Drink

Didn't use the catering facilities but had lunch at a large Tesco about two minutes walk from the ground.

Police & Stewards

As you enter the turnstiles you are patted over and any bags you have on you are searched. If you have any bottles with tops on them you must remove the top before being let into the ground; I think this rule is stupid.

Atmosphere

People have always said to me that the Holte End is the loudest stand at the Villa; When I went they never sung once. The Villa fans only ever sang when when they scored and even then not very loud.
