"great fans"

I saw a Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic game here in 2019 when their regular stadium in Xi'an was undergoing renovation. I got the train into Weinan just for the game, there doesn't seem too much to see or explore, and went straight back afterwards. I doubt they'll be regular football at the stadium again but I went more for the team and their fans than for the stadium. Xi'an is a great place to visit and well worth combining with a game if they're playing.

Location

The ground was around 20-30 mins walk from the train station. I can't remember if there was any bus routes going there but there were plenty waiting after FT to take fans back to the train station. Quite a few regular trains too going back to Xi'an

Atmosphere

Shaanxi Athletic are the best supported lower league team in China, they got close to 50,000 in their 3rd tier playoff games in 2018 and had 26,000 (more than many CSL clubs) for this match despite having to play in a nearby city. I can imagine if they do make CSL in next few years and play at one of the new stadiums in Xi'an they could get big crowds.
