"On top of the world"

The highest ground in the world for international football, as sanctioned by FIFA, was a must to visit when in La Paz during my wife and I's three country South American holiday. What did surprise me was that this apparent giant stadium only holds 41,000 and disappointingly has a running track around the edge of the pitch. Sadly, we were there midweek so no chance of a game to see even though two Bolivian premier sides also share the ground as well as the national team.
