derek-hart has rated Bootham Crescent 3.5 out of 5.
Bootham Crescent is a far from perfect stadium but it is a good old fashioned lower league ground with it's own charm. Friendliness from people generally (police, stewards, supporters) was very good.
Location was fine but not very well sign posted in the vicinity or from the major A roads
Seat comfort was fine in the Popular Stand. The shallow pitch of the rows of seat plus the support columns did restrict the view a little. This was not an issue for me but my 11 year old son struggled to see all the action at times.
The visiting supporters standing was uncovered, it was lashing down for the whole game too.
Toilets were poor. Very smelly, no hot water, no provision of soap (it wasn't that soap had run out it just didn't exist)
Very helpful police when asking for parking info.
Stewards and staff very friendly indeed, the welcome was very warm and genuine.
Tense atmosphere with the game being a relegation 6 pointer - but very good to be part of the 4 and a half thousand crowd.
Home supporters while passionate about their own team also recognised good play from the opposition which was very refreshing to hear.
