Entering Milton Keynes was like nowhere else me and my mates have travelled. It felt like a set almost like the Trueman show and would have been fitting if tumble weeds blew across the silent town. We then got to the ground which is on a industrial park, like no ground I have seen previously. I was expecting a big turn out for a team chasing promotion to the Championship but instead there was just over 8,000 fans including 1,000 Stevenage fans in a 22,000 stadium. Although a nice amount of space and bar areas, the general experience atmosphere was left to be desired. For 90 minutes the Stevenage fans were at full voice and the only time any Mk Dons fans could be heard was when they scored to win the game 1-0, pathetic! When the final whistle had gone the Stevenage fans remained and applauded there players, at which point they were the only fans as the Mk Dons fans clearly had somewhere more interesting to be in what could only be described as a shithole... I wanna go home!
The top tier, seatless, with plans to put seats in the summer, best off saving their money and moving back to Wimbledon. There is potential for the ground to be a nice venue if they had the support to justify it but from my experience they didn't and for that reason I hope they remain in League 1 and don't get promoted.
No obvious bus routes when you leave the train station, and when its raining in a town with no population it's hard to find anyone to help. We did eventually get a bus to the ground, where to be fair there is a lot of space for car parking but I couldn't tell you how much it would be.
Good view and general nice feel to the pitch. Had the bar just behind and was an overall good experience seeing my local side at one of the ''bigger'' clubs.
Enough toilets and bars to please all.
Service was fast and reasonable for a football match. Had sections you had to remain in when they could have let the fans stand in the big area outside the bar near the seated area, to take in the pre match buzz.
The 0.5 is only because Stevenage fans chanted throughout, but for MK Dons, I would give zero as we made clear to some of the fans at the bus stop on the way back.
