davidapattison-67 has rated Moorside Park 3.5 out of 5.
This is a good standard ground in the Fife Junior football scene.
Public transport services are better than for most grounds and the ground is a ten minute walk from the station and town centre. Car parking is limited to surrounding streets but spaces can usually be easily found. The ground is accessed through a housing estate and is not immediately visible from the main access roads.
Although there is no seated spectating areas, there is a small covered terracing area.
Views of the playing area are only slightly obstructed by the covered enclosure supports but this is seldom a problem.
Toilet facilities are provided and there is a reasonable catering servery (a cup of the soup is a must) forming part of the clubhouse. A members bar can make alcohol available and there is a hospitality suite for hire.
The more enclosed nature of the ground makes it relatively easy to generate a good atmosphere when a good sized crowd is in attendance.
A good venue to experience Junior football in Fife
Moorside Park is on the south edge of Cardenden in Fife. This small town is served by rail services from Dunfermline and bus services also from Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy. The station and bus stops are approx. ten minutes walk from the ground. The pedestrian approach to the ground is via either of two cul de sacs in the adjacent housing estate. Car parking close to the ground is therefore limited and is solely kerbside street parking.
Local directions may be needed to find the ground as it lies behind the housing estate.
There are no seated areas in the ground.
There is a small covered enclosure on the terracing area adjacent to the club house and entrance to the ground.
the rest of the spectating area is the grass covered surrounds of the playing pitch which is enclosed by a single rail fence.
The view of the playing area is clear apart from the support stanchions of the covered enclosure. On wet days when this area is crowded this can result in obstructed views of the pitch.
The toilets are located underneath the clubhouse and like the clubhouse are typical of such older structures.
There is a catering server adjacent to the toilets and part of the clubhouse structure. the usual hot and cold fare served at such small grounds is available, but special mention must be made of the hot soup - varieties change from match to match and all are well worth sampling.
Alcohol can be had in the members bar whose building adjoins the club house.
There is also a hospitality suite available for hire at the entrance and this has good views of the playing area.
None present at any of the games I attended
Moorside Park doesn't have the spacious and open surrounding grassed spectating areas of many of the Fife Junior club grounds. Consequently a better atmosphere can be generated during games.
This is especially the case with Scottish Junior Cup games where progression through the rounds sees increases in the size of home support and visiting spectators.
