Grounds should have character - something distinctive, not necessarily blatant, that marks it out as yours. It should also be in the community, not in an out-of-town shopping centre. Highfield Road was both of these, and a perfect size for our level of support (we sold out 3-4 times a season in the top flight). The hare-brained scheme which almost bankruppted us, brainchild of the corrupt Brian Richardson, sees us now with lots and lots of empty seats in a generic monolith. Sigh.
Fantastic city centre location, in the middle of a working class community - where football should be played.
We had a fairly brilliant view behind the goal.
Top notch.
Yep
Standard
Ocassionally deathly silent, like most home crowds, but every now and then it knocked your socks off.
