Sydney FC were away playing the A-League grand final when I was in Sydney so I went to a NRL (rugby league) game at the Sydney Football Stadium.
Ground was easy to find as it's right next to the cricket ground in Moore Park. Transport wasn't as easy, this area of Sydney isn't served by the rail network so you either have to walk from the city or jump on a bus to Oxford St and walk from there.
Ground was just under half full (21,000 crowd, capcity is c. 45,000) and getting a beer and something to eat was amazingly quick & easy compared to some of the gounds in the UK.
Bar coded tickets also meant no queues at the turnstiles.
Good views all round, no obscured areas & friendly stewards all added up to a good experience.

View was good, nothing obscured. Seats are fixed plastic (not folding) and were comfortable enough for the whole game.
Short and quick queues for toilets, food, beer etc. Very efficiently done which made life easy.
Beer and food were pretty much the same price as local pubs, no massive mark ups or rip offs.
Didn't encounter the police - the stewards were friendly and helpful.
I went to a Rugby League game so can't really comment on what the atmosphere is like for football.
