Went to see Milan at the end of the 2009 season. Champions League football for 09-10 was still up for grabs and Inter hadn't sealed the Scudetto so both teams (Milan & Juventus) both had a lot to play for. Bought tickets from a tout so ended up in Juve end, but the Juve Ultras were on good form and the Milan fans got vocal once they had scored.
Ground was starting to show its age a bit, the toilets were prehistoric and the choice of food for away fans was limited (tepid pizza slice) but as a theatre of football it was great.
From the segregation of fans, the spiral walkway to the away end was buzzing and we emerged into a roaring wall of Italian chanting.
You can walk there from the metro - takes 20-30 minutes but there are free fan buses at the tube stop.
If you are in the away end it takes forever to get out but we still made it before the metro stopped running.
Nothing much in the surrounding area - mostly residential.
Clear view from everywhere. Fixed seats which aren't the most comfortable but better than the folding ones - and you can buy branded cushions outside...
Toilets are porcelain holes in the ground. Food kiosks basic.
Price was fine - choice very limited. No beer.
Not much to report - kept inside for 30-40 minutes after the final whistle then herded through steel barriers away from the home fans and concourse - couple of flares thrown in but no reaction from police or stewards so everyone else ignored it too.
Brilliant atmosphere - but pick your games as the way Milan are playing just now you need the fans to get going.
