What a stunning location! In the centre of a friendly village with far reaching views across Lizard Lighthouse and southerly out across the channel and mighty Atlantic Ocean.
Lovely to spend the day here, watch the match and enjoy a pint or three before a wander around the village and fish and chips from Smugglers.
Friendly people, beautiful location and a great sense of community.
The furthest Southerly mainland football ground in the UK. Accessible by train to Redruth Station and then an hour on the bus or 40 minutes in a taxi. If you're driving it's easy - follow the A3083 from Helston and stop before you hit the sea. There's ample parking at the ground and there are bar facilities and snacks as well as Sky Sports. Stunning views from the ground make this a wonderful place to watch grass roots football.
No stands so bring an umbrella - or sun cream - you can never be too sure which at Lizard. However the view from all round the pitch is uninterrupted.
The clubhouse is open and has full facilities including toilets, bar, seating, Sky TV and friendly helpful staff.
Beer prices are subsidised as this is a members club that welcomes visitors and guests. The bar is long and well staffed so there is little or no waiting time. A good choice of local ales on draft as well as more recognised brands. Bar snacks are available.
Local support is friendly and the banter entertaining. The ground is free to enter although you may be asked for a voluntary contribution, a couple of quid to help pay the ref etc Extremely important to small clubs like this.
