"Colony Park"

I had already bought my train ticket in advance from Edinburgh to Inverness to watch my team, Queen of the South playing Inverness Caledonian Thistle on 11 January 2020. On the Friday I found out the game was off, waterlogged pitch, so checked the fixtures and Forres Mechanics were playing Fraserburgh in the Highland League, so decided to head there instead. On arriving at Edinburgh Waverley station there was a note on the departure indicator saying the Inverness train would have a bus from Perth due to flooding at Kingussie. I asked if it was ok to go via Aberdeen and that was ok.
En route to Aberdeen I discovered that Forres was now off due to a waterlogged pitch, next option was Inverurie Loco Works v Huntly, so that was where I headed after arriving at Aberdeen, with about 40 minutes to wait for the train onwards.
While having my lunch in a café in Inverurie I checked the Futbology app on my phone to have a look at nearby fixtures to confirm the kick off time at Inverurie and to my delight Colony Park v Deveronside came up with a 1330 kick off. Colony Park's ground is immediately next door to Inverurie's Harlaw Park, so I was able to get the first 70 or so minutes, leaving at 3-1, which was in fact the final score.
Its a mostly open ground with a raised clubhouse where the players change and also offering a bit of shelter in inclement weather. The locals were fairly friendly who I spoke to, and also informative about the club.I counted the attendance as 56.
Well worth a visit in similar circumstances.
