"Great atmosphere, great location. My new 2nd team."

bigwhitewill's review of Vale Park

Great location with easy parking (for free) on pretty much all the local streets. Cheap drinks and food, and a great atmosphere. The whole club feels really community based, and everyone seems like a proper working class bloke or lass.

The ground itself is dated, but has a charm about it which does not make you feel that way. The seating situation was lovely as well, with as far as I could tell transient activity, with no one staying in the same seat and moving around.

Location

No need to pay for parking, I parked on the road leading down to the stadium (about half mile away). All the streets on opposing sides also had free parking, with plenty of spaces. As its not in a city center, you do not need to worry about any issues with travel, parking e.t.c... which makes visiting all these grounds harder.

View

There was a lot of bar supports in the stand I was in, however as there was plenty of seats at the rear where I was sitting I was able to just move along. I can imagine if it was busy, and you was not able to swap that this would become annoying.

Facilities

For the age of this stadium, I have been to far worse toilets in Premier League stadiums (Stamford Bridge for one). There was plenty of cubicles, although the top bit was cut off (so tall people can see over).

Food & Drink

The game I went to had about 2/3 capacity that night, however the queues at half time for a drink were far too long for me to go to. However the prices were reasonable.

Police & Stewards

Police were located around the ground, however there was not too many of them to make you feel like you are entering Belfast in the 80's. Stewards were all polite, older ladies and men, who were genuine Vale fans and would chat with the fans.

Atmosphere

I went to a Christmas game, so it could have been the Christmas cheer (and the fact they won 3-0). However the atmosphere was amazing. The vale fans did not stop singing, and had some great banter with the Blackpool fans.
