I had a long hankering to watch Skeid play a home game for reasons I won’t bore you with. Eventually, in 2018 I ventured to Oslo to watch them take on local rivals Kjelsas in a third tier game.
Skeid were top of the table at the time and eventually won the league , having won this game 4-2, and an excellent game it was too.
The Nodre Asen is a twenty minute or so tram ride from the city centre , with the ground only 5 minutes or so walk from the tram stop. Teams are regular and quiet and clean.
The main seating is along one side and the seats are uncovered. They are raised and give a decent view of the action and are close to the pitch. Plenty of leg room, I am 6 ft 2 and was very comfortable.
Facilities are reasonably basic. There is a bar area and a catering outlet too and a few toilets which were clean and accessible. There is a supporters merchandise outlet which is basically a table set up in the clubhouse.
I had eaten lunch before the game and did not sample any of the offerings but there were sufficient outlets at the ground.
The were stewards but they were not really needed for crowd control as although the visitors had a few supporters with them, everything was good natured.
Atmosphere was outstanding. Skeid have a hardcore of fans who sing for 90 minutes irrespective of their teams performance and it made for a really good day. It is amazing how a crowd of around 600 can make more noise than some crowds of twenty times that amount. Everybody involved , supporters, staff and stewards were really friendly and this is Club I can thoroughly recommend.
