bigaitch has rated Het Kasteel 5.0 out of 5.
Het Kasteel is a really superb ground which has been modernised in recent years, but has kept its castle (kasteel) external appearance on one side.
The atmosphere is one of passion towards the home side but not in a nasty or threatening way, in fact it is the opposite. Thoroughly recommended trip, but due to the smaller capacity it is advised to get tickets in advance.
About 20 minutes on the tram, No 8, to the end of the line which is literally outside the ground. Other teams from the city centre go to within a five minute walk.
I sat in the stand on the same side as the tunnel, and my seat was about five rows from the front but the stabs is raised and it gives a fantastic view.
Loads of toilets, loads of food outlets, a decent club shop and free programmes as you go into the ground.
Nothing outstanding but good enough, reasonably priced too.
Police were very low key and friendly, the stewards all seemed switched on, approachable and again really friendly.
Superb atmosphere . There is one section that did not stop throughout the 90 minutes even when their side were 1-4 down (V Top Oss April 2019). The remainder of the ground occasionally joined in but overall were more placated. A good atmosphere in which to enjoy a game of football.
