Having seen a few photos online during construction I was impressed with how the stadium looked. Having been to the first game there, the impressiveness is magnified considerably.
This is a ground that would impress at step 2 , let alone step 4 where it currently sits. A vast, raised stand built to similar design as that which stood in the second incarnation of Milton Road dominates proceedings, and there is additional covers raised standing on the other three sides. The rest is flat hard standing but even with a crowd of nearly 1500 present things were not a problem.
Hopefully City can start doing things on the pitch and the good days may be around the corner.
A bit of a problem as it is out on a whim in the small Town of Sawston. However there is a railway station not too far and I am advised plenty of busses go close by from Cambridge and other areas. In addition, it is not far from the M11 and there is a significant number of spaces in the car park as well as some parking on nearby streets.
As alluded, even with a vast crowd the view was fine and there was still plenty of room for others to attend.
Loads of everything, toilets cover, seats etc . Being new everything was immaculate.
Loads of local companies were plying their wares, raging from cakes, to teas, coffees, confectionary, craft beers and other alcoholic drinks, burgers, fries etc. Pretty well something for everyone as well as a club bar.
Stewarding was excellent, they dealt with the filling and emptying of the car park and the crowd really well.
Great atmosphere generated by supporters of both sides. Friendly welcome from those on the gate and selling programmes etc.
