My recent visit to The Pilot Field was 19th November 2019, where Brighton held off a strong and determined Hastings United team who looked to cause a shock in cup.
Hastings United 2-3 Brighton & Hove Albion U23’s, Sussex Senior Cup 2019/20.
I was impressed with the ground considering the size of the club. The ground is an oval with the pitch in the middle. This is probably one of my favourite non-league grounds in Sussex
I was sitting in the main stand which is a few feet away from the pitch. However, that wasn’t much of an issue apart from a few support pillars.
The majority of seating in the main stand is wooden benches and there are some plastic seats bolted into the floor.
Fairly non-league standard, they have a small club shop as well as a social club.
Recommend the food available including the drinks
Minimal and good-natured
Hastings have good home support in the Cup as well as the League and showed it on the night by constant singing and beating of the drums.
