My visit to Bristol Rovers’ Memorial stadium was on 27th August 2019 for a R2 League Cup match. Brighton progressed to R3 after an entertaining cup tie with an injury time winner.
Bristol Rovers 1-2 Brighton & Hove Albion (R2 League Cup 2019/20).
The stadium has certainly some character about the place with 4 different stands. The notable one has to be the West stand because it looked similar to a cricket pavilion.
It certainly a ground to visit that’s for sure!
Away fans have got two options to watch the game from. Firstly, one side of the East stand which is a terrace and secondly the South stand which is ‘temporary’, although it has been there for a number of seasons.
Two problems in the South stand was the support pillars which can restrict the view. The stand lighting didn’t work at half time when darkness fell as it was an evening kick off.
Everything is outside which can be great on a sunny day (not so if it rains mind you). Food and drink are available from the kiosk. There are a number of Portaloos.
Limited food options on sale but all decent.
Ready to help when finding your way to the Away stands.
The home supporters were absolutely in full voice as they looked to cause an upset.
