This is a large ground with a surprisingly low capacity. The match day experience when I went (April 2019) is a little manufactured and inside has the feel of an American outdoor sports game
The ground is a circa 15 minute train journey from Shinjuku Station, It is not covered by JR pass or a subway pass, so buy a ticket from the machine (English language button). On match days the train will stop at the stadium stop, on other days you need to change once and wait a couple of minutes. This line like all Japanese rail lines is very efficient, you get set your watch by the train times. If asking for a ticket mention you are going to the football game otherwise they will suggest a change. I didn't mention that I was going to the football and changed, It doesn't make a huge difference.
Once at the stop the ground is a 10 minute walk, you can see the stadium from the station.
Good roomy stadium and seats. It is a bit of a distance to the pitch however.
Plenty of toilets, basic mens which where fine. My wife was amazed at how poor and dirty the ladies restroom was. You can buy souvenirs from stalls on the concourse under the stand. There are some handouts Spanish type in Japanese of course.
Lots available, you can have a beer at your seat and there are food choices. American style snack vendors also prowl the stands.
Like a lot of Japanese society there lots of stewards and police around telling you where to go.
Surprisingly good, European styled so has a manufactured quality about it. They sing 'You'll never walk alone' at the start of the game which unless Celtic are singing it, personally makes me want to vomit.
