arnfurious has rated Recreation Ground 1.5 out of 5.
The Recreation Ground is a charming venue in the village of Fairfield. To say it's not particularly modern would be accurate. The ground has no floodlights, or fences, or even a net to stop the ball from flying into the woods behind the ground when a shot misses the target. I do love a grassroots ground and this filled my needs. It was a freebie and the ground has a bar. It also feels like part of the community. The adjacent primary school's play area is six feet away from the touchline.
Fairfield is a out of the way. There's no train station. You can get there by bus from Bromsgrove town centre or have a loving wife who's willing to drop you off there. There's not a lot of parking room either.
I spent the game leaning on a rail. There are no seats but if you don't mind standing you're guaranteed a cracking view.
