FC Utrecht v AZ (Alkmaar Zaanstreek) - Sunday, 21st August 2016 - Eredivisie
Excellent ground, good views, good facilities. Free colour programme.
Jong Utrecht v FC Oss - Monday, 10th April 2016 - Eerste Divisie
Only one stand open for this game, tickets available from the fan shop.
The ground is outside of the city centre, with the training ground and other local football clubs next to it. So parking close-by is not possible, as the close roads are stewarded and not suitable for parking. We parked for free, on the other side of the FC Utrecht training centre, about half a mile from the ground. You can walk through all the pitches, so the walk is quite interesting.
The really helpful lady in the ticket booth, selected our seats for us, to give us a good view. We were high up, opposite the dug-outs, close to the half way line. All four stands are big, steep, without pillars, so the view is unobstructed and excellent. The seats only cost twenty euros.
Wide concourses inside the stands.
Plenty of clean toilets.
Excellent club shop.
You have to buy a stadium card for two euros, not refundable. The outlets are good, a decent range, decent prices and reasonable quality.
Police only doing road closures.
Box office staff excellent.
You are not allowed to take umbrellas in to the ground, it was raining, which was politely explained and my umbrella was left with the stewards.
The ground is a good size, but the corners are open and the atmosphere is a little dissipated. Utrecht lost two-one, which was not too popular, but there was no trouble.
