This is a really unusual ground, quite unique really, well worth a visit.
The ground is at the foot of a hill, on the outside of the city.
Close to the dual carriageway, car park nearby and plenty of free on-street parking.
There is a famous monorail in Wuppertal, with a stop outside the ground.
There is a main stand on one side of the pitch, uncovered terraces at both ends and a mixture of uncovered seating and terracing behind the benches.
Although we had seat numbers on our tickets, it was in effect unreserved and you could sit where you liked. Good views, unrestricted, from near the half way line.
The ground is like a bowl in shape.
There is a nice forecourt at the front of the ground where you buy tickets from booths, a good fanshop stall and food and drink for sale.
Free colour A4 programme, covering several games.
Plenty of clean toliets.
There was a good food and drink outlet at the back of the stand.
We did not see many police, nor stewards, but it was a friendly atmosphere.
Ticket seller, fanshop staff and food outlet staff all helpful.
One of those days for the home fans, their team could not score, trying everything. Up again ten men, awarded a penalty and it still did not go in. Fans stayed with the team and continued to support them until deep in stoppage time, when they headed an equaliser. Obviously, pretty upbeat after the game.
