Union Sportive Du Littoral de Dunkerque v Cercle Athletique Bastiais (CA Bastia)
Friday, 27th May 2016 - French National League
Dunkerque's last home game of the season, so reduced prices of just three euros each. Great value for a decent game.
The ground is easy to find, on bus routes, not that far from town. Free car park opposite, but with a 2m barrier, but plenty of free on street parking. There is a Macdonald's just up the road.
The stand we were in is basically a series of tiles steps, on which you sit. There is a similar main stand on the other side of the ground. Clear view of the pitch, no pillars. The stand is in need of repair, rusty railings, peeling paint, etc. and it could do with a good clean. There is a terrace behind one goal, what looks unused.
We could not find any toilets, the men were peeing under the stand.
There was a free colour programme.
There was a tea stall that was busy throughout. It was next to the pitch, so you could watch the game whilst queuing.
Never saw any Police and never saw a steward in the stand. The box office staff were helpful, especially as I could not under the cheap entry.
Small attendance, in a wide open ground, so not that noisy. The referee seemed to allow some tasty tackles, without showing any cards and this did not seem to bother anyone. Game finished one-all, which was a fair result. Home team came round to the fans to thank them at the end, which was reasonably well received.
