US Boulogne-Sur-Mer Cote D'Opale v Stade Athletique Spinalien Epinal
French National League (Last game of season)
Friday, 3rd June 2016
Unusual ground, a bit tired and in need of a little TLC.
Boulogne wasted a hat full of chances and so regreted it when Epinal scored with the last kick of the game.
The ground has loads of free on-street parking around it, but some of the roads are quiet tight.
There are stands on both sides of the pitch, but nothing behind either goal. The pitch is surrounded by a running track, but as the stands are not too big, the view is fine, with no pillars.
There were a few toilets behind the stand.
There was a hospitality tent behind our stand, but no catering outlets. A few people took a long walk and disappeared behind the opposite stand, returning with large portions of hot dogs and chips. No one seemed to have a drink.
No police present, stewards only at pitch side. They seemed to be more interested in smoking.
We could not get to our allocated seats, as a very large home supporter blocked the end of the row. Given he was well over twenty stone and well over six foot, with lots of issues, we sat elsewhere. During the second half, he was in floods of tears as someone sat in a seat he did not want, but calmed down. Otherwise, not a lively atmosphere, people simply watching. A few singers on the other side of the ground.
