1. FSV Mainz 05 v SV Werder Bremen (Bundesliga) 24th October 2015
The Coface Arena is a modern ground, built quite literally in the middle of a field. Virtually everyone walks to the ground from bus routes and car parks, none of which are that close. Wide concourses inside and outside the grounds, good and cheap food outlets, good club shops and the programme only cost a euro. Good atmosphere, good ground. Very safe feeling and no trouble.
Out of town. Plenty of free parking within fifteen minutes walk of the ground. Safe feeling walking to and from the ground.
Good sight lines, spacious seating. They even had a mini airship flying around the pitch before the game and at half time.
Plenty of toilets, club shops, programme sellers and room to move about freely inside the ground on the concourses.
Good food, at good prices. Usual range of Bratwurst, etc, as you expect to find at German grounds.
We spoke to a few staff, all helpful and all spoke English. Like at all Germany grounds there was a strong Police presence, but they had nothing to do.
Good atmosphere, even though they lost three one. As usual at German grounds, they sang the club song, waved their scarves and the standing supporters sung throughout.
