"A lovely little, picturesque, ground right out in the sticks"

has rated Adams Park 3.0 out of 5.

ajimofalltrades' review of Adams Park

This is a lovely little picturesque little ground out in the Chiltern hills. The stadium is quite decent with one big main stand for the home fans, back up against a hill and then small stands around the rest of the ground. However, it makes for a nice little atmosphere and the views for aways fans are pretty decent. The only downside would be for those travelling by public transport as the ground is quite a long way from the station and though there is a special football bus running it is quite crowded and I walked back from the ground quicker than it took to get to the station.

Location

The ground is pleasantly located located between two hill in the Chiltern countryside. It really is a lovely picturesque location with plenty of nature, I saw about half a dozen red kite flying around the stadium. The downside to having the stadium in such a location is that it is quite far out of the town centre. I decided to walk the 2.5 miles as it was quite pleasant but there is a special bus that goes to the ground from the station. However, the bus did look very busy and I had walked back to the station before the bus arrived owing to traffic. Other than the traffic it looked pretty straightforward to drive with plenty of street parking and extra parking in the top field outside the station.

View

The view for away fans is good, for a behind the goal location, with good vision down the length of the pitch with no obstructions. The seats were a bit cramped but fairly standard really.

Facilities

The facilities outside the ground were good. There was a fairly sizable marquee where food and drink was being sold that meant there was a lot of space and the queues moved quickly. Inside the ground it was a bit different with the toilets being quite small for the number of people trying to use them and they were a bit old and dingy.

Food & Drink

I had a cup of tea and hot dog. Both were good though there was no extra milk available and very reasonably priced.

Police & Stewards

The stewards were very polite and attentive. One steward in our stand got a particular ovation when he made a good header to return the ball to the pitch.

Atmosphere

I thought the ground made a really good atmosphere. The away fans were quite loud and the atmosphere felt good in the stand we were in. The home fans had a bit of drum and when they made a bit of noise they were quite loud.
