BMH's review of Victoria Park 3G

11 goals in 90 mins but could have been more.
There's obviously a bigger story that needs researching in the background regarding a recent ground 'move'.
The old ground with traditional covered stand with seating etc, and home for donkeys years, literally adjoins the new ground. It appears the old ground was sold and now has a Tesco store plus half developed houses on it, there's also what appears to be a derelict 'social/sports' cub as well.
Sadly the new ground is very basic, propped up by ever willing volunteers ( a hall mark of all clubs visited at NWCFL ).

Location

Easy enough to get to by car, although once at the ground it was an easy 5 min walk after parking in front of Tesco's.

View

Completely unobstructed standing views on all 4 sides of the ground.
One side has a smallish seating area with (approx) 100 seats?
On the other 3 sides within the football grounds boundary is a tarmacced 'path' / hardstanding backing on to grassy mounds, which would give a decent view, but not allowed to stand on.
The mounds do hint at potential for future terracing, although I suspect that might be a long way off.

Facilities

Basic.
No clubhouse yet (but there again neither has the Bowl)

Food & Drink

The food & drink was more akin to a school tuck shop. Bountiful supplies of crisps, choccy bars and soft drinks, along with hot drinks - tea, coffee, Bovril - and Pot Noodles & Cup A Soup.
No alcohol at the ground - there is a pub just near the Tescos and obviously Tesco have more snacks stuff available. But why would you spend money there than supporting the grassroots club?

Police & Stewards

No need for Police.
Stewards as always at NWCFL grounds more than helpful & welcoming and cannot be faulted.

Atmosphere

No atmosphere really.
The game was played on same night as (spit) Champions League games, and with I sense a 'story' in the background that's created some division, there was only 63 in attendance, including 9 from FCIOM. Pretty sure most present would have enjoyed the number of goals, the managers less likely, with defensive coaching high on their to do lists at next training sessions.
