BMH has rated Rakesmoor Lane 3.0 out of 5.
Enjoyable day out despite the result
IoM Ferry to Heysham, on to the M6, turn left on to the A590 keep going until you get to Barrow. Easy.
On the outskirts of town, with great views (if you're momentarily distracted from watching football!) across to the Lakes.
Clear unobstructed view from all 4 sides of the ground.
A sheltered seated standing behind one goal (across road from the Golf Course), one small sheltered stand terrace along side the pitch.
A very neat and tidy clubhouse, with a decent bar & serving hatch with quality pies, hot dogs, chips + hot drinks as well.
Pie £1, Hot Dog £1. Tea/coffee £1. Decent range of beers at £3 a pint.
The club house was heaving - Rugby League World Cup semi final was on between GB & Samoa.
No need for Police - the stewards as always at all NWCFL grounds I've been to were just like your mate.
Most 'noise' during the early part of the game was inside the clubhouse as RL World Cup semi final was on.
After the game - the atmosphere was brilliant as HOB celebrated.
