BMH has rated Butchers Arms 3.0 out of 5.
Play off rivals and fairly near neighbours, fought out a scrappy game on a very heavy, bumpy pitch. After soaking up pressure AH then took the lead just before half time & 1 floodlight went out. As the players trooped off at ht, a second went on the blink leaving half the ground in darkness. After slightly longer ht the lights came back on. AH got a penalty and spectacularly missed, but eventually went 2-0 up, before D got a late consolation
Metrolink from central Manchester is a few hundred yards walk to the ground.
One big seated 'main' stand along one side above changing rooms. Home end is covered standing. A smaller covered standing terrace along the other side and a final open end.
The clubhouse is very similar to a pub lounge. Cracking noisy atmosphere inside. A chap had also set up a merchandise stall at one end. Smaller food kiosk outside.
Just outside the clubhouse/bar is a small kiosk. Got some great scran available.
Just stewards, no Police.
The home end was lively, but AH ground them down. I stood in the side covered stand opposite main stand. Loved it in there, very dark, lots of banter, within touching distance of the pitch.
