BMH has rated Anfield Sports & Community Centre 3.0 out of 5.
Very basic ground, but in some cases needs most. It serves a purpose as a community asset/facility and for me is just as good as other grounds visited. Cannot be too sniffy, especially when taking into account the LB stewards/ground staff. Its always the people that make the occasion not the ground.
Situated not far from Anfield, easy to drive to with a large car park, although we walked from the Anfield direction which took approx 20 mins
Unobstructed views available from 3 sides of the ground, the 4th side was not available to spectators.
Essentially standing behind one goal, standing plus a small (50 seats approx) behind the other goal.
The side by which you enter had one small seated area, a long standing covered area, plus the entrance to the clubhouse and changing rooms, essentially part of the Sports Centre which makes up the ground.
The pitch is astro, surrounded by tall green security style fencing.
Good sized clubhouse, with a variety of food and drinks.
Alcohol, hot and cold drinks and a varied selection of food.
No Police, but all stewards were friendly sorts.
The crowd of 164 was bolstered by a good number of FCIOM supporters (50 or so) for the double head away weekend (Longridge tomorrow)
