I can't remember. I know that it was at some point in 1999. It would have been the previous season, but my dad refused to take me whilst Graham Barrow was our manager. My first away game was an FA Cup tie at Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2003.
Either beating Northampton town in April 2010, when Chris O'Grady scored the goal that won us promotion for the first time in 40 years, or winning 2-0 at Southampton in September 2010.
Lincoln city 7-1 Rochdale in 2004. I begged my dad for weeks to take me. I still think if that penalty was awarded then it would have been a different game ;)
The atmosphere was brilliant, and after biting our nails whilst 1-0 up after they had countless opportunities to score, Gary Jones scored from 30 yards to send 600 dale fans into raptures. 20,000 fans getting outsung by us was a fantastic feeling!
It's a strange feeling going there, it doesn't feel like going to a football match. There is a really old stand to the right, which is closed due to health and safety, and a decent if not old stand opposite the away end. To the left is a curved terrace similar to the one opposite, and the away end is standing at the bottom with seating up top. There is no atmosphere, and the view is atrocious from the bottom. I'm not even going to try and explain what the toilet facilities were like!
