The 2027 Women's World Cup has been awarded to Brazil. The South American country beat off competition from Germany and a joint bid by Belgium and the Netherlands.
The tournament will be hosted in 10 stadiums across the country with initially reduced capacities. If ticket sales are strong, capacities can be increased, as required.
Other countries in the running to host the event were South Africa and USA. Both countries withdrew before the FIFA vote and will instead throw their hat into the ring for the 2031 tournament.
