Thursday 29th October 2020

A new 20,000 seater stadium has opened in the Georgian town of Batumi.

The new stadium has been built to UEFA category 4 standards, meaning it will be able to host international matches and games in the Champions League and Europa League, if required.

The new ground will be home to FC Dinamo Batumi who play in the Georgian top tier, Erovnuli Liga.

The £35m stadium is located close to the centre of the city, on the Black Sea, approximately 230 miles from the capital Tbilisi.

Batumi stadium becomes the 3rd largest in Georgia, just over a third the size of Dinamo Arena.
