New 60,000 seater stadium opens in Ivory Coast

A new 60,000 seater stadium has officially opened in Ivory Coast.

The Stade Olympique Ebimpe is located on the outskirts of Abidjan and marks the first phase of an "Olympic City" which will also include other sporting facilities as well as a 4 star hotel and a medical centre.

The new Â£200m stadium becomes the biggest in the country and in the top 10 biggest stadiums in Africa and is expected to host the final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

50,000 fans attended last weekend's opening match between Asec Mimosas and Africa Sports.
