The city of Charlotte has announced plans for a major overhaul of the Bank of America stadium which serves as the home of MLs side Charlotte FC and NFL team Carolina Panthers.
Improvements including replacing all 74,867 seats as well as new sound systems, scoreboards and video boards. There will also be expanded team stores and new social areas with views of downtown Charlotte.

MLS side FC Dallas are planning some significant upgrades to their Toyota Stadium home. The club is budgeting $130m to bring the stadium up to modern standards.
Improvements would include new lighting and roofing as well as much upgraded premium, corporate and press areas.
If given the go ahead, the upgrades would start in early 2025 and take 2 years to complete.

Luton Town's season in the Premier League have given them the financial backing required to build their new stadium to its maximum capacity of 23,500.
The club had originally planned to open the stadium at a capacity of 19,500, and increase in the future when required. However the £100m+ which the Hatters made last season means the club will instead press ahead with the extra capacity from day one.
Groundworks have already started with piling and foundations expected to commence in the early part of 2025. The club are hoping the new stadium will be ready for the start of the 2027/2028 season but have already said that they don't want to move part way through a campaign - meaning the 2028/2029 season may be more realistic.

The Hungarian city of Budapest will host the 2026 Champions League Final.
The match will be played at the 67,000 capacity Puskas Arena. It will be the stadium's second major European final, having hosted the 2023 Europa League final between Sevilla and Roma.

The 2027 Women's World Cup has been awarded to Brazil. The South American country beat off competition from Germany and a joint bid by Belgium and the Netherlands.
The tournament will be hosted in 10 stadiums across the country with initially reduced capacities. If ticket sales are strong, capacities can be increased, as required.
Other countries in the running to host the event were South Africa and USA. Both countries withdrew before the FIFA vote and will instead throw their hat into the ring for the 2031 tournament.

Liverpool's women's team will move to St Helens' Totally Wicked Stadium after signing a 10 year lease. It follows 6 seasons playing at Tranmere's Prenton Park.
Some bigger matches will be hosted at Anfield, but Liverpool are making a significant investment at St Helens with the deal including a new pitch.
St Helens is twice as far away from Anfield as Prenton Park was.

League Two side Northampton Town are to start work on the new East Stand at Sixfields.
The new stand will take the stadium capacity to 8,200 and is hoped to be completed by Spring 2025.
Development of the new stand will also include 100 new parking spaces, including 8 EV charging points, a new hospitality suite and accessible viewing area for wheelchair users.

The mayor of Indianapolis has indicated that the city has held preliminary discussions with MLS about obtaining a franchise licence to play in America's top league.
The city has already drawn up plans for a new stadium in downtown Indianapolis.
The news casts a huge shadow over the city's USL team Indy Eleven who were embarking on their own $1bn redevelopment project including a new 20,000 seater stadium.

New York City's MetLife stadium has won the race to host the 2026 World Cup final.
The NFL stadium is shared between New York's Giants and Jets teams and fought off competition from Dallas' AT&T Stadium and Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium.
The tournament will kick off at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, with the ground making history in becoming the first stadium to host 3 World Cup opening matches.
The draw and kick-off times will be confirmed towards the end of 2025.

Inter Miami have increased the capacity of their DRV PNK Stadium by over 2,500 seats.
The club has added a brand-new seating section to one corner of the stadium whilst increasing the number of seats available in two other corners of the ground - increasing the stadium's total capacity to 21,550.
The demand for Miami tickets has skyrocketed since Lionel Messi's arrival in south Florida, with Inter Miami's attendances up 38% on the previous season.
Miami will finish this season at the DRV PNK Stadium whilst work continues on their new 25,000 capacity Miami Freedom Park.

Saudi Arabia has released details of a new “futuristic” stadium in Qiddiya which could host matches at the 2034 World Cup.
The new 45,000 seater stadium will feature an advanced cooling system allowing it to host events all year round as well as a retractable pitch and LED wall capable of showing live events, HD films and laser shows.
The stadium will be home to Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr and will also host matches from the upcoming 2027 Asian Cup.

Cypriot team APOEL FC have announced plans to build a new stadium.
The new ground would be located around 12 miles away from the capital Nicosia and would cost an estimated €250m.
No capacity details or timelines have yet been given for the development.
