Big is not always best, Try Princes Park (Dartford FC) to see what can be achieved at non league level.
Fulham v Manchester City
Fulham won 5 - 1, but I was in the city end!
Manchester City 5 v 1 Manchester United
23rd September 1989. The firt Manchester derby after city winning promotion back to the top flight. A superb young City team, cries of Fergie out, and I missed the 5th goal after tumbling down the Kippax terracing after we put away the 4th. Brilliant.
Drawing with Bristol Rovers at Maine road was grim, as was losing 4 v 0 to Arsenal (in the first 30mins).
Tonbridge Losing the Ryman semi final play off 2009 to Carshalton after so much expectation.
This is such an iconic stadium and so sad its gone. I first went in the late 80's, and then had a season ticket in the Kippax in the final years. There was so much space around the ground, a good view everywhere, good food and drink, Helen's bell, the Parkside, the Kippax courtyard, and above all a great atmosphere that will never be experienced again
Sutton's ground has a running track between you and the action, so you have a sub standard view, and there is little atmoshere. A ramshackle array of stands with no symetry, you walk round the ground trying to find a good viewpoint only to find yourself back where you started.
