I remember 2 games from the 2004-05 season when we won League 1 one of which was Blackpool away a game we won 3-1 but i don't so much remember the game but do remember the stand collapsing/caving in, I don't believe anyone was really hurt but you could tell that the stand was not strong enough
The first game I actually remember goals from was Doncaster away on the final day of the same 2004-05 season in which we needed to win to finish on 100 points exactly. However it was not to be we lead 3-2 but then came a shockingly poor mistake. A Doncaster cross misjudged on sailed over the keeper into the side of our goal right in front of me. Just less than 10 years later 3 divisions lower than the league we got promoted to we finally managed 100 points (101 exactly) winning the conference in 2013-14 season
I have been to games previous to these in the 2004-05 season but neither my dad or I can remember who they were against so just included the first games I can remember.
Best Game
Alfreton 0-5 LUTON (2013-14) or Hyde 0-1 (2013-14)
These will take some explaining. Firstly I need to say that I believe I've been incredibly unlucky to the point that I missed the JPT final in 2008-09 in a bitterly sour season which we started with -30 points, less than half a squad and without a kit. So a dramatic trophy final could of softened the blow of playing conference football next season however my parents decided to book a holiday over the final as they doubted we'd make the final of which I cothuld do nothing about.
I was also unlucky enough to be unable to go to Norwich away in the FA cup 4th round in 2012-13 season. However there was little I could do about this as the tickets never went on general sale. Don't have a season ticket living up north as don't get to many home games. The game like the JPT final would of provided light to an otherwise dark season in which we finished 7th in the conference.
I was finally unlucky enough to miss the trophy presentation against FGR at our final home game of the 2013-14 season which would of possibly been one of my best games but I had no means of getting to the game with my dad about to go in for an operation so missed the presentation at a sell out stadium.
So the Alfteton 0-5 LUTON game in 2013-14 season is up there for a few reasons one of which is that it was some of the best football I've seen us play since i began supporting Luton. The game i feel was also very important because it was the game after which I started to believe that we may be able to catch Cambridge and get out of the dreaded conference. The game was also one of my best because of the night stayed over in Alfreton the previous night with my brother.
The Hyde 0-1 LUTON in the same 2013-14 season game rivals this as it was my first chance to join in with the celebration after winning the league and get involved with the championi chants and take part in one of the 3 pitch invasions that followed our crowning. The game was also brilliant because of the amazing Hyde fans that i met before the game in the club and their songs during the game in which they were stuck right in the corner for their 'home' game and also very friendly after the game.
Worst Game
Gateshead 5-1 LUTON (2012-13) or York 2-1 LUTON (2011-12)
The Gateshead game in 2012-13 season was played at Carlisle (I think because Gateshead pitch was flooded) our season was mathematically over so did not expect that much but simply couldn't imagine what happened and I believe it was the lowest total attendance for a Luton game in the League if not in a competitive game.
The York game was the playoff final in 2011-12 season. Andre Gray scored for us inside 2 mins but things soon went sour with York's winner being at least a good 2 yards offside. Things went from bad to worse in the 92nd min with me being on the big screen and on TV screens crying which might not of been so bad if i did not live in York and at School the next day
was only young but can still remember it Brilliant atmosphere, proper 4 stand ground none of this boring bowl nonsense still my best ground despite loosing 5-0
anyone whose been will agree, not a football stadium, you are miles from the pitch with a running track around the terraces to the sides I've never seen open but cant imagine the view is any better. Being miles from the pitch and with a few hundred home fans there simply isn't an atmosphere.
