Fiorentina have announced plans to develop the land adjacent to their Stadio Artemio Franchi. The new development nicknamed "Viola Park" will include 10 football pitches, all with undersoil heating.
The Serie A side will also build small stands at the side of two of the new pitches. One will have seating for 1,500 people whilst the other will have a capacity of 3,000 - that sounds like 2 new stadiums in our book!!
Construction will begin in January next year and will be completed by Christmas 2021. The project will also feature offices, changing rooms, a swimming pool and a church. The total cost of the €75m development will be financed by the club's owners.

Fiorentina are moving closer to building a new stadium after local architects revealed their vision of how the ground might look.
The Serie A side have been considering a move away from the aging Stadio Artemo Franchi. Last month, Florence city council made an area of land available for sale in the north east of the city, which has been earmarked for the new stadium.
The design under consideration would see a new 40,000 seater stadium built at a cost of around €150m. If given the green light, it would take 2 years to build. The development would also include a two-storey shopping center and restaurant.
