On the 17th of June 1922 New Zealand's National Football team the All Whites played their first ever international game against Australia (Socceroos) wining 3-1 in front of 8,000 people. (lahs)
The heritage listed turnstiles building from 1926 remains to this day as a lasting reminder of the former stadium. (lahs)
