cant remember the date but wolves were playing bury at molineux and won 4-0, steve bull hattrick and andy much the other
when wolves beat the albion 4-2 at the hawthorns, iwan roberts hattrick and steve bull the other. atmosphere in the away end was electric!!!
probably the 3-0 loss away to ipswich when freddie eastwood missed a 1st half pen
just had so much character to it and even more atmosphere. one of the old grounds which has been lost forever which is unfortunate considering all the history of the place aswell
its a close run thing between this ground and readings old elm park because both were absolute shitholes and when i went to these grounds my team wolves, always lost! the away end at burnden park had no roof and it was pissing down on the particular occasion that i went. there was a yellow line painted on the floor from the bottom right hand corner of the stand going diagonally up to the back left hand side of the stand. if you stood on the right hand side of the yellow line, you couldn't see part of the pitch because there was a big old supermarket impairing the view! if you stood to the left hand side of the yellow line you got to stand underneath the old fashioned floodlight pilon and therefore had big iron struts blocking the view. then there was the bogs and food outlets- up to your ankles in piss and cold pies
