About facebook-user-64459

Looking forward to going to some new grounds in the 2009/10 season including Charlton, Watford, Dag & Red and maybe a Premier League side in the FA Cup :)

First Game

My first game was at my local club Southend United. As soon as I heard the crowd sing their chants and sat at watched a team that played decent football for Division 3, I was hooked. I was 9 then and 9 years later I have never doubted it.
The game it's self was against Brighton and Hove Albion and we won 2-0. David Lee and Martin Curruthers with the goals.

Best Game

This is a tie between three different games. One was a magnificent victory over Manchester United at Roots Hall. Another was our draw in the FA Cup against Chelsea. Last but not least, our 3-0 win over rivals Leyton Orient. The way the team went about these games was more than worth the entrance fee.

Worst Game

Losing 1-0 against Cheltenham Town in the JPT. The game spent more time in the air than on the floor and both sides were very poor on the night. The game went to extra time and one of the only shots in the game, in the last minutes of the second half, went in. I would of rather watch paint dry than watch that game again.

The attmosphere was amazing. The ground was full with an attendence of over 80,000 and Southend filling one stand. It's a top class premier league ground and deserves have one of the top teams playing there. Saying that...couldnt beat League One Southend United :)

I've been to bigger grounds when playing Sunday League. The atmosphere was poor. The pitch more bumps than a cobbled road.
