The first match i ever went to was Leeds United v Everton at Elland Road towards the end of the 1996/97 season. I cant remember much as i was only 6 at the time but i do remember David Wetherall scoring with a header and i believe the match finished 1-0.
Man United 0 Leeds United 1. January 3rd 2010. Old Trafford. Jermaine Beckford. 9000 Leeds fans. Thats all i have to say!
Swindon 3-0 Leeds. Last season, a rearanged game on a Tuesday night. Awful town, awful ground, awful seats and a god awful leeds performance.
Not for the atmosphere of the supposed best supporters in the world but the ground itsself is amazing. Its one of the first things you see coming in to newcastle and it towers above the city. And the view from the heavens as an away supporter is quite spectacular. I prefer this to any other ground just for its originality, it isnt like these new awful box stadiums that all look the same. It has real character to it.
Without a doubt one of the worst trips in my life. Im sure Rotherham supporters are glad they dont have to visit Millmoor any more. From the town itself, to the car park, to the little ginnel that away fans had to squeeze up to get to the away entrance to the ground itself that looked like it was ready to be demolished. Add to that a humiliating 1-0 defeat and freezing weather conditions, you can imagine my displeasure on the night.
