Sheffield Wednesday away at Exeter.
4 years old.
Probably one of the earliest experiences was Di Canio pushing of the ref in the infamous incident.
Either the play off final of 2004/2005 season, or Brentford away when Wednesday overtook United to get in the promotion places.
The play off final was a great experience, the Millennium Stadium for atmosphere is much greater than Wembley in my opinion, and a 86th minute equaliser from Steve Mcclean made it 2-2 after a JP McGovern goal, then goals from Glen Whelan and an 120th minute goal from Drew Talbot made it 4-2.
The game against Brentford was a big game. Sheffield United had a late kick off against Stevenage and we knew that if we won and United failed to do so we would slot in to 2nd spot and they would drop in to 3rd with one game left.
Going 1-0 up to a Keith Tracey free kick gave us hope, but then a Clayton MacDonald penalty made it 1-1 before Miguel LLera carried on his fine scoring form with an header. The final whistle is what made it more than anything however, grown men grabbing me going 'this is out year lad we're gunna do it'. Then we arrived at the services as news filtered through that United had only managed a draw, and masses of Wednesday fans come running out the services, surreal experience, but just shows its more than just a game.
Wednesday V United 2003 at Bramall Lane.
Alan Quinn sent us 1-0 as I remember before losing 3-1.
It was the experience that made this so bad though, flairs and fireworks were coming over, and as a 9 year old boy I was terrified.
If this isn't then possible losing to chesterfield on a dreary wet day stood on the away end at Saltergate.
Not in terms of the best for views ect, but the atmosphere when Wednesday have filled it out has been brilliant.
Remember us winning 4-1 there and Chris Brunt running the crowd when he scored. The away day as an whole is always a great one, and not too bad a ground in terms of results for us.
terrible atmosphere, generic modern ground.
However I do think that what is happening to them is horrible, another sign of money ruining football.
