Which football stadiums are the most Instagrammable in the world?


How do you quantify the most Instagrammable football stadiums in the world? You count the number of hashtags on Instagram, duh! Ticketgum.com set out to find the stadiums with the most hashtags on the social media website. To collate the top football stadiums, Ticketgum.com counted the number of times stadiums appeared on Instagram using the following listings: #name or #namestadium (example: #Anfield or #AnfieldStadium). Football fans are preparing for the return of the Champions League which will feature many of the teams on this list. Fans can visit signupoffers.codes to get the latest bet bonuses to wager on Champions League matches.

The website found over 8 million hashtags for the top 15 stadiums. So, which stadiums are the most Instagrammable venues in the world, according to the ticketing website?

15. London Stadium – West Ham

West Ham moved into the former Olympic venue in 2016 but the Hammers are not the reason it makes this list. The London Stadium has been used for baseball, cricket, athletics, and more since opening.

14. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – Tottenham Hotspur

Like No. 15, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium isn't just a venue for football. The NFL played games in the London stadium in 2019 and it was tagged 118,000 in images on Instagram.

13. Etihad Stadium – Manchester City

The reigning Premier League champions have brought out fans who have snapped and posted pictures in droves. Over 141,000 images were counted with #Etihad #Etihadstadium tags.

12. Parc des Prince – Paris Saint-Germain

French champions Paris Saint-Germain had over 170,000 hashtagged images according to the research. Why wouldn't they with the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe playing at the French stadium along with France national team fixtures?

11. Emirates Stadium – Arsenal

Arsenal accounted for most of the hashtags in the research to place the Emirates just outside the top 10. However, the addition of high-profile Brazilian international friendlies also helped.

10. Signal Iduna Park – Borussia Dortmund

Signal Iduna Park is one of the top football tourist destinations and it is no wonder Borussia Dortmund's cathedral makes the top 10 with 223,351 hashtags.

9. La Bombonera – Boca Juniors

La Bombonera is another top football tourism destination and would probably be even higher on the list if it wasn't so far away in Argentina. It is the only venue to make the list not from Europe with 277,640 hashtags.

8. Wembley Stadium – England national team/cup finals

Wembley sees a plethora of hashtags due to the number of high-profile international and cup matches that take place on its turf. Everyone is excited for a cup final and 315,405 hashtags were collated.

7. Allianz Arena – Bayern Munich

Another top destination for travellers, the Allianz has been frequented by fans from all over the globe for German and European matches with more than 374,000 hashtags.

6. Stamford Bridge – Chelsea

The top Premier League teams are major football fan experiences and travel destinations for supporters from all over the world. Stamford Bridges is sixth with 412,963 hashtags.

5. Old Trafford – Manchester United

The Theatre of Dreams received 900,191 hashtags, according to the research. Thanks to its large capacity of more than 74,000 people, the stadium is very visible on social media.

4. Santiago Bernabeu – Real Madrid

Real Madrid's famous Santiago Bernabeu welcomes over 81,000 fans for every La Liga and Champions League matchday. The Bernabeu had 909,045 hashtags on Instagram.

3. Anfield – Liverpool

The reigning Champions League winners play at one of the most famous stadiums in the world and that is why more than 1 million hashtags were counted. How many hashtags did the research find? Just 1,011,70.

2. San Siro – AC Milan/Inter Milan

You may think the San Siro is too high on the list, but consider that AC Milan and Inter Milan both play at the Italian giant and it is no wonder it has 1,094,088 hashtags.

1. Camp Nou – Barcelona

Whether you agree or disagree, Barcelona's Camp Nou is the No. 1 most Instagrammable stadium in the world. The stadium had 1,812,226 hashtags according to the research. Why? Because of Lionel Messi and the trophies that Barcelona have collected over the last decade.
